Integrated Environmental Monitoring Studio (IEMS)
The Hon’ble Finance Minister made an announcement during the budget session of the year 2021-2022 that India’s first Integrated Environment Monitoring Studio (IEMS) would be established in TNPCB.
Subsequently, TNPCB established Integrated Environmental Monitoring Studio (IEMS) in the second floor of the Corporate office at a cost of Rs.1.5 crores through TNeGA and it was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu on 14.08.2024.
IEMS functions as a central monitoring centre for real time monitoring of industrial emission (Air Quality Watch), effluent discharge (Water Quality Watch), air quality (CAAQMS) and tracking of vehicle movement that transport hazardous/bio-medical waste etc
The data for CAAQMS is received from the CPCB through API to IEMS. The data for AQW and WQW is received from the Care Air Centre through API to IEMS
TNPCB officials working in the IEMS monitor the quality parameters of ambient air quality, industries air emission, industries discharges and communicate the same to respective JCEEs/DEEs/DD(labs) if any parameter values exceed the standards prescribed by the Board.
Additionally, the dashboards of the following web applications of TNPCB have also been integrated with IEMS
- Online Consent Management and Monitoring System (OCMMS)
- Online Grievance Petition Redressal System (OLGPRS)
- Online Legal Case Management and Monitoring System (OLMMS)
