1.What kind of complaints can I make to TNPCB?

Complaints relating to environmental pollution shall be made to TNPCB.

2.Can I file complaints relating to garbage disposal burning, dumping etc to TNPCB?

Complaints relating to garbage disposal, burning etc., may be filed to the local body concerned.

3.Can I file complaints relating to disposal of sewage by residential houses, commercial establishments etc.,?

The complaints relating to sewage disposal by residential houses, commercial establishments etc., other than industries may be sent to local body.

4.Can I file complaints relating to Noise pollution caused due to loud speakers etc?

The Police Department is empowered to take action relating to Noise Pollution caused due to loud speakers

5.Can I file complaints relating to discharge of sewage and effluent by industries?

TNPCB will investigate the complaints relating to discharge of sewage and effluent from industries.

6.Can I file complaints relating to vehicular Pollution?

The Transport Department and Police Department are empowered to take appropriate action relating to vehicular pollution.

7.Do I have to send hard copy of compliant after making complaints online?

The complaint need not send any hard copy of complaint after filing online complaint with TNPCB

8.Will I get a reply on action taken on the complaint filed?

The details of action taken will be sent as reply in the form of letter and the SMS will also be sent to the complainant.

9.Can I track the status of complaint filed online?

The facility for tracking of complaint is available and the complainant can know the status of complaint by entering the complaint ID and mobile number registered in the online complaint.

10.Why should I make online complaint to TNPCB?

The complaint filed will be sent directly to the District Environment Engineer, immediately and will facilitate early investigation & early redressal of the complaint.

11.Can I make written complaint to TNPCB instead of online complaint?

The written complaint can also be sent to TNPCB which will be investigated and details of action will be sent to the complainant by post only.

12.Will the TNPCB officer meet the complainant to know the seriousness of complaint?

The Engineers of TNPCB will be meeting the complainant if correct mobile number or contact address is provided in the complaint.

13.Will the complainant be provided with an acknowledgment for registering the complaint?

The complaint ID will be sent as SMS to the mobile number furnished in the complaint. If email ID is provided, the details of registration will also be sent to email ID.
